Traditional MIG gun designs draw power through the power pin (referred to as the feeder adapter on PowerBall® guns). This is not ideal, as the current is negatively affected by electrical resistance in the drive roll assembly on the feeder. Additionally, power pins are typically made out of brass, a poor electrical conductor. With the PowerBall® power cable, the welding gun is drawing current straight from the power source through an all-copper connection, maximizing conductivity and providing faster, smoother arc starts. |
